The Yes We Care Programme was officially launched in 2009 which came about due to an initiative from Honourable Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit in 2007. Currently, the programme provides care for 198 persons with 43 caregivers (persons who look after the elderly/handicapped) and 9 supervisors. The Office is located upstairs the Globe on Independence Street and is housed with 4 staff inclusive of the Co-ordinator, one administrator, office assistant and a driver.
To provide personal homecare to selected house-bound elderly and handicapped who have no one to care for them.
Process of registering for the programme:
- One can either come in or write to the office.
- An assessment is done and the information is then referred to the Minister of Social Services who makes the final decision.
- The decision to discontinue is also performed by the Minister.
